WARNING! this is for an advanced user just few things that I do to Optimize the usage of my Hard-drive to the extreme

This things is extreme and may violate your OS warranty… so be a very carefull

1. Windows Help Files did any of you read Windows help files? no?.. delete c:\windows\help\*.*

2. Windows Default Bitmap Wallpaper did any of you use those? no?.. delete c:\windows\*.bmp

3. Windows Default Screen Saver use screen saver? no? delete c:\windows\system32\*.scr

4. Ever read Other common app Help files? like IZarc, WinRar, Adobe Acrobat, Common Driver, Video Player? no? delete em *.chm,*.hlp,*.cnt

5. Familiar With the common app Readme.txt content? yes? delete ‘em

6. Windows Default Sound Scheme? did any of you use those? no?.. delete c:\windows\media\*.wav

7. Today’s application use language support, do you use language other than English? no?
delete the other language files

8. Ever use font other than your default? why do keep em (unless u’re designer but if you’re designer why don’t install the font just when you need them? it will optimize your PS, Corel and Windows)

9. Ever read manual *.pdf files inside your program files? no? delete em all

10. Do you need those fancy application skins? no? delete the one u don’t need

11. UPX all the executable files? (don’t know what UPX is? read the detail on this site) UPX

12. Temp Files (that’s common) like c:\windows\temp or c:\Documents And Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Local Settings\Temp\

13. Prefetch? c:\Windows\Prefetch\*.PF

14. Ever Use Windows Java? (if u’re developer u probably have your own java) well..
c:\windows\java

15. Ever use Joystick or planning to have one? no? delete c:\Windows\System32\DirecX\Dinput\*.png

16. Some games use a common file for their video like .avi, .dat, or .mpg (open those file in a
common video editor and cut the file as short as possible) or even better some game
will run even without their movie files

17. Some games use a common file for their music like .mp3, .wav, or .ogg (open those file in a common sound editor and cut the file as short as possible) or even better some game will
run even without their sound files

18. Avoid Thumbs.db and zip all of your manga scan per-chapter (and use acdsee or IrfanView
to read it)

19. Use Pascal Convention On File Names example: Yellow Card - Paper Walls into YelloCard-PaperWalls (that will save extra bytes hehehe)

20. Use Duplicate File Finder on your Musics, Videos, Mangas And Pics Collection maybe you’ll find
the same file DUPFile

Well manage to Clean 1.161 MB today
